Star Behavioral Health Providers (SBHP) is a community of licensed civilian mental health providers who have received specialized training in understanding and treating military service members and their families. SBHP providers have completed a comprehensive tiered training program to inform them about best practices when working with service members, veterans and their families. SBHP is a collaborative initiative managed by the Military Family Research Institute at Purdue University and the Center for Deployment Psychology at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences.

Dr. John Carton, Ph.D., ABPP, is a clinical psychologist on staff at Soublis Psychological Associates and he has achieved SBHP certification. He is honored to work with members of our military, reserve, and National Guard families. In his spare time he volunteers as a research coordinator for Lifewaters, a non-profit organization that trains veterans with spinal cord injuries how to SCUBA dive and then supports them on dive trips around the world.
