Testing & Evaluations – Adults
Comprehensive Psychological Evaluations
A comprehensive psychological evaluation is a comprehensive assessment of an adult’s mental and emotional health. It’s like a mental health check-up that helps professionals understand an individual’s thoughts, behaviors, and emotions to determine a diagnosis and create a personalized treatment plan. This type of evaluation can be conducted in late adolescence throughout adulthood and is particularly helpful when an individual has met with various therapists, psychologists, or psychiatrists over the years and symptoms appear to persist even when various interventions have been implemented. Frequently, there is a concern of having an accurate diagnosis to determine whether the experienced difficulties may be related to depression, anxiety, bipolar, and/or a personality disorder. The evaluation process is not a single test but a combination of interviews, review of previous interventions and client’s records, standardized
psychological tests, and observations.
Along with providing an accurate diagnosis or diagnoses, specific treatment recommendations based on the diagnosis will be provided. After the evaluation, adults walk away with a deeper understanding of their own strengths, weaknesses, and coping mechanisms.
Comprehensive Psychoeducational Evaluations
At times, adults will seek psychoeducational evaluations to obtain academic accommodations at the undergraduate or graduate level or for standardized tests required for graduate school entry. Typically, adults have been evaluated previously and are seeking confirmation of a previous diagnosis so they can continue to receive accommodations for a learning difference or Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder.
Autism Spectrum Disorders Evaluations
Have you spent a lifetime feeling “different,” struggling to understand social cues, or experiencing sensory sensitivities that others don’t seem to? Feeling misunderstood can be a source of frustration and confusion. An adult autism evaluation is a comprehensive and compassionate process designed to explore whether your experiences align with the diagnostic criteria for Autism. It is a step toward gaining clarity, validation, self-acceptance, and a new framework for understanding yourself and your experiences.
At Soublis Psychological Associates, we offer Neurodiversity-affirming assessments for adults who suspect they may be Autistic. We understand that seeking a diagnosis as an adult is a deeply personal journey, often born from years of self-reflection and a desire for greater self-understanding.
Our evaluation is a multi-step, personalized process designed to be thorough and respectful. It is conducted by a Licensed Psychologist with specialized expertise in adult neurodiversity. The process typically includes: initial consultation, standardized assessments, collateral information, and a feedback session. During the feedback session, the results of your evaluation will be reviewed along with personalized recommendations for support and resources. Upon completion of the feedback session, you will receive a detailed written report. This document is a valuable tool that can be used in a variety of ways to support your well-being and personal growth.
